Niega sal y el pan y la sal a San Pedro

After some searching, I think the base idioms here are:

compartir el pan y la sal con alguien
negar el pan y la sal a alguien


I'm not 100% sure, but I think these refer to opening your heart and home and having fellowship with someone (or not doing it, in the second case).

Yes, it seems more one idiom but when the person negate the things is tacaño.
