Cuando estuve/estaba?

Hi, which is correct to use?
Cuando estuve aquí por la primera vez.
or
Cuando estaba aquí por la primera vez.

I think it would be the first one. |Could it be both?

Could someone confirm this?

Gracias.

It could be both. It depends on what you're trying to convey.

There are several threads here in the forums where the differences between the two tenses are discussed.
