Bill collectors?

I was reading an article in a magazine that spoke about bill collectors in Spain.

Hay algunos que se visten en diferentes disfrases (sp?) para hacer este trabajo. Los usan para asi avergonzar a las personas que deben dinero. Todo mundo se da cuenta que debes dinero y que no haz pagado cuando el (bill collector) cobra cuentas (??) llega a tu domicilio. Entrevistaron a una señora que esperaba al "cobra-cuentas" con un balde de agua. Esto se oye muy cómico pero pobre "cobra-cuentas" él solo hace su trabajo. No recuerdo si también hay mujeres que desempeñan este trabajo. Pobre también el que debe el dinero.

En la fotografía había hombres vestidos de torero, payaso, (mortician) no sé como se dice en español..

Era un artículo muy interesante!

Sí, yo he visto varios. Se suelen llamar el "cobrador del frac" porque fue la primera empresa que se conoció en España y supongo que la más famosa. La verdad es que sólo he visto al cobrador del frac, no he visto payasos ni empleados de funerarias. Tampoco es que se vean muchos, al menos donde yo vivo.

Thanks for the corrections......so the plural of costumes = disfrades?

In the article they mentioned "el cobrador del frac". Is frac an acronym for something?

Sorry, it's disfraces (disfraz, in singular)

Frac is a smart men suit with tails, which is used only in very special occasions. The "cobrador del frac" also uses a top hat.

Cobrador = cobra-cuentas

Bill collection = Cobranza.

El resto ya fue aclarado por irmamar y Angelica.
