Within means inside, which is to say that you understood correctly, but I used the word in a general way, not tailor-made for Alfonso, which means that you applied it(to your charming self) wrongly. And, I´m not changing my mind, sweetheart.

No voy a meterme in discursos teológicos pero sé que las cosas cambian.
En la primera parte del ciglo 20 en algunos partes de los Estados Unidos si un hombre negro caminaba con una mujer blanca, podría ser su suicidio. El pueblo lo ahorcaría en una plaza pública. Frecuentamente fue acompañado con una gran fiesta. Matrimonio entre dos razas distintas era prohibita hasta los años 60 en estado de California.

Las cosas cambiaron por lo mejor aquí. No soy optimista, pero si cambiaron aqui existe la posibilidad que puedan cambiar alla también.

As PERO is a contrastive conjunction, you are really meaning that Poli said the opposite as your statement. Or, at least, that he said something which is an obstacle to what you are now stating. What I cannot understand is the PERO character of your post.

On the other hand, I made a quick research on the net to know what you call the kind of conjunctions I call adversativas. I found contrastive conjunctions. Could you say something like an adversative conjunction (but, however, nevertheless...).

Me suena que Elaina estaba de acuerdo conmigo, pero con condiciones.
Según Elaina, cambio no ocurre sin el deseo de cambiar. En generál creo
que ella tiene razón.
No creo que adversative conjuction no es usa aquí. Si adversative es una palabra legítima en inglés, casi no se usa.

Me parece que ella usa pero porque está de acuerdo, pero
con tal de que existe el deseo de cambiar.

Gracias por lo que dice de me suena y me parece. No estoy completamente seguo como se usa me suena cuando significa
me parece.
