It may be just literal,
frotarse las manos (literal) to rub one’s hands together; Or more figurative (regodearse) to rub one’s hands with glee It is satisfaction. For example when Rafa Nadal (Spain and World #1 Tennis player) played the Australian Open Semi-final against Verdasco (another great Spanish tennis player) in 2009, they went on for 5 hours and some more (a record time for the Australian Open)... Rafa said in an interview, "Roger Federer debe estar frotándose las manos" (I.e., Roger was going to play the Final in 24 hours the guy who won the semi-final... so he must have been happy and delighted that they were killing each other, as it would be easier for him to win that final.) (Rafa ended up winning and winning the final for his first Australian Open... regardless, but that's another subject.) I hope the example was illustrative. But, as said, it reflects more satisfaction... (It could also be nervousness or uncertainty, anxiety... depending on the context, but with no context, the first idea is glee = júbilo, alegría, entusiasmo... vamos allá.

¿Con nerviosismo? Tal vez con ansia. Normalmente uno se frota las manos esperando algo agradable, algo positivo, especialmente dinero.
Edit: Más que ansia, avidez. Last edited by irmamar; October 28, 2010 at 06:22 AM. |

Estaría bien nerviosamente o incluso con miedo....
Mucha gente lo hace, de nerviosismo más que otra cosa, lo cual expresa miedo y poca seguridad en ellas mismas. |

También por frío... El contexto lo dice todo.
