El recibo no tiene la cantidad correcta. El televisor está en oferta. Por consiguiente, yo pagué demasiado (dinero).

(Do I need to say "dinero" there, or can I just leave the "demasiado" as the last word in the sentence?)

And you are right, "dinero" can be either used or not.

You could also say "Por consiguiente, (yo) pagué de más"

"Estúpido" is a stronger word in Spanish than in English... we'd rather use "tonto" (foolish).

"Se descompuso" = "it broke", it doesn't work anymore.

"Walmart won't change it..." : yes, that's correct; I won't get a restitution.
