Subjunctive examples of SER / SEA needed

Can someone please give me a few examples of using the sunjunctive in order to express an opinion. As always I would be much obliged.

Por ejemplo - No creo que sea justo que los padres tienen que pagar una multa en nombre de sus hijo si ellos cometer un delito.

Being an English teacher, my knowledge of Spanish is just practical, so I can give you examples, but I cannot explain why you use the subjunctive in these particular sentences. Hope it helps all the same:
Me pidió que abriera la puerta.(past subj)
Quiero que vengas ahora mismo (pres subj)
Si estudiaras, aprobarías (past subj)
Si no hubieras dejado la ventana abierta, el ladrón no habría entrado (perfect subj)

So you see we use it after que (but you already knew that) and in conditional sentences. But I guess there are many other uses I cannot recall now.

I have just thought of a different example:
Como no hagas lo que te digo, me voy a enfadar.(pres subj)

Thanks for your examples, I am really trying to get my head around them but at this moment of my learning development I am very confused, I think I just need to practice and keep on at it. Once I have the subjunctive licked I can really start to incorporate it in to my sentences .

You know, I'm quite lazy when it comes to studying grammar. When I studied French I never had the patience, but I did the exercises and read a lot, and I can say I managed to get quite a decent level...
So, as you say: practice makes perfect.
