Question No puedo entender este comercial

Quote:
Tenemos algo extra.
Sabemos que la vida es esta.
Nos gusta caer ???
???
a toda hora puedes entrar.

Good job!

Thread title has been corrected from "esta comercial" to "este comercial".

Supongo que eso no significa literalmente "we like to fall without warning"... entonces qué? "We like to drop by without warning?"

No entiendo. "Until God gives us the joy of living"?

Latinos in general don't announce a visit and in general we don't expect the host to have something special for us. We share what we have at the moment, and enjoy the visit.

You are doing excellently!

Todavía no entiendo. En ingles esto no tiene sentido: "All we want to do is dance and enjoy until God allows us to enjoy life." It implies that the dancing and enjoying will end as soon as God allows us to enjoy life. Something like this sounds a lot better: "All we want to do is dance and enjoy as long as (or "while") God allows us to enjoy life."

@Bellatter: Your intuition preferring "mientras que" over "hasta que" is right. The verse does sound like we're dead and then we'd become alive, but this is colloquial speech. Sometimes understanding these constructions depends just on the context. ;(

And you're also right about "to drop by". It does have a negative connotation for many of us, but the stereotype of latinos always ready for fiesta and "mi casa es tu casa" cliché makes the verse be understood in a much more relaxed way.

I agree with Chileno, you're doing great.

Sorry, I should've read what I wrote.

"That should be read as "..until God allows us to continue enjoying life"

No need to be more latino, but to understand more what makes us tick, that will suffice.
