How was work?
Como a ido el trabajo
or Como te fue el trabajo or something else? Also, I've heard people say Como te fue hoy? And I think it means how is your day going, but I don't really understand why it means that. There is no día in the question and I don't know what 'te' is doing. Can you help me please? |

The "te" in the example is the object of the sentence. To explain it in a totally clumsy fashion "¿Cómo te fue hoy?" could be translated (very badly) as "How did today go with you?" with "fue" being "did go" or "went" and "te" as "you". A better translation would be "How did it go today" with the "you" or "te" implied. If "today(hoy)" is acting in the present tense, the question becomes "¿Cóme te va hoy?" or just "¿Cóme te va?" "How's it going?"

¿Qué tal el trabajo?
¿Cómo te fue en el trabajo? ¿Cómo te ha ido en el trabajo? ¿Cómo te fue (hoy)? (Not only for work)
