Question Wishes/desires about the past...

I am trying to write "I wish I had seen the other gallery." (Speaking of an art gallery that I missed.)

I am totally new to the subjunctive, but it is my impression that you can NOT use the subjunctive when the subject is the same in both the first and second parts of the sentence. But I don't think I'm supposed to use "que", either. I can't figure out this construction...........

Espero haber visto otra galería.

Without giving you any explanations, here's how I would express it:

I wish I had seen the other gallery.
Me hubiera gustado ver la otra galería.
Literally: I would have liked to have seen the other gallery.

Other possible ways of saying it: (I think )

Ojalá hubiera podido ver la otra galería.
Ojalá hubiera visto la otra galería.

Las opciones de Tomisimo son perfectamente válidas. Yo habría dicho: "Me habría gustado ver la otra galería". O incluso: "Cómo me habría gustado ver la otra galería".

Fantastic options!! Within the realm of my comprehension and normal language usage. Now that I am starting to learn the subjunctive, I will come back with a LOT of questions. But not today. THANK YOU both!!
