I signed up for LiveMocha. So far I like it. I was afraid I couldn't do it because I don't have high speed internet. The images load slow and so far I haven't had to do any videos.

I also started trying to learn the days of the week and the months. I figure they will take care of themselves in time if I practice repeating one each day. Can you listen to this recording and tell me if I'm saying viernes correctly?

Hoy es viernes, el nueve de julio de dos mil diez.

I'm also taking the advice of someone on here and trying to name things when I see them. Like el coche, aqua, tierra and more. Just things that describe what I'm looking at.
I don't know if you try with a chatroom or perhaps if you have contact in your messenger, maybe you could to speak with them and both can learn the language, he can teach you Spanish and you teach him English.

I think it could be faster for you if you try to speak with someone in Spanish.

I plan on doing something like that but I'm afraid I don't know enough Spanish now that it wouldn't be useful. I signed up to an all Spanish site but all the conversations are above my limited ability. Anyway once I feel I'm comfortable understanding a lot of what I hear on the television I plan to use Skype or something to talk to a person. I think I just tried to bite off more than I could chew.

Bueno, Chris, puedes empezar con unas tapitas de aperitivo.
[Well, Chris, you can start with some 'little appetizer' as a snack.]

Reduce the size of your bite, and just enjoy every morsel...

Yo diría como te anoto en azul.

Un saludo.

Sí, facebook.com/iamatomic

I'm not a teacher either. I can tell you how a sentence should sound in English but not why heh. I'm southern though so don't ask me to pronounce something for you or it will throw you off. lol A guy from Texas came to work with us and I said something was "rurnt" and he said "It's what?" I said "Oh sorry, RUINED..."

Sigue así!

My dictionary doesn't have "sigue" but SpanishDict translated it as "Keep it up." I do not quite understand. Así means several things and it is hard to grasp an image to put with it.

Again a recording to see if I'm saying it correctly. I downloaded and installed audacity so now you don't have to save the file to listen as tomisimo suggested.

Rusty has a spectacular aura aboutRusty has a spectacular aura about
The gue sound is pronounced 'gay', just as the que sound is pronounced 'kay'.

Sigue is the imperative (command) form of seguir, in the familiar 2nd-person, and it means follow.
Así means so or likewise.
Putting them together, you get follow so/likewise (keep it up).

By the way, if the Spanish want to say 'gway', they spell it güe.

Thank you.

What is the difference in naranja y anaranjada? I know naranja is an orange but I thought it could be used as a color also.
