The bottom line

 

An idiom is an expression whose meaning is not readily apparent based on the individual words in the expression. This forum is dedicated to discussing idioms and other sayings.

"The bottom line" en contabilidad es la suma. Luego se usa metafóricamente para el resúmen de lo más importante. Por ejemplo, al final de una reunión la persona que la lleva podría decir, "So the bottom line is that we need three more weeks in testing, but we can still hit the market before Christmas?"

Así que "That's the bottom line!" se podría traducir, por ejemplo, "Así es", "Eso resume lo importante".

Sí, es como la conclusión... "a eso se reduce todo" "esto es el meollo de la cuestión"...

Bottom line, buy a good bilingual dictionary...

En resumidas cuentas: cómprate un buen diccionario bilingüe...

(Me he reído un rato con lo de "button"... "la línea del botón" )
