Pigeonhole
A figureative word that means to have someone catorgiized or seen as a type. Many serious actors' fears are that they will be pigeonholed into playing a certain type of character.
I think the word in Spanish is encasillar. Is there a similar figurative expression in Spanish?

Yes. Encasillar is the correct word.
I cannot think of another one at the moment, that's similar to that. |

Adam West quedó para siempre asociado a su rol como Batman. William Shatner logró finalmente desprenderse del Capitán Kirk para recrear nuevos personajes como Denny Crane. Vincent Price quedó encasillado en roles tenebrosos y obscuros pese a ser un excelente actor dramático y tener gusto para la comedia. Muchos actores que quedan encasillados en el rol de galán joven acaban abruptamente su carrera al llegar a la edad madura.

Also "etiquetado". A veces hay músicos que rechazan que se les pongan etiquetas a su música.
