Ninguno de los dos. No son opuestos (you don't like them because they are not opposite? or because you are not romantic/do not like romanticism?)

2. ¿Qué es lo aburrido para ti?
(El) limpiar la casa es lo aburrido.

3. ¿Qué es lo curioso de la vida?
Los adolescentes es los curiosos de la vida.
You're talking about los adolecentes as a group/theme

4. ¿Prefieres lo cómico o lo dramático en el teatro?
Prefiero lo dramático.

5. ¿Y qué es lo mejor de la vida para ti?
(El) enseñar es lo mejor de la vida para mi.

¡Gracias!

Nice exercise.

3) The question with "lo curioso" is asking you what you find funny (in the sense of strange in a positive way) in life.
You answered who is curious about life.
"Lo" is much more general than asking about people, and also a hint is given by asking "qué", instead of "quién".

I'm fine with your answer for number 1, I think it's clear enough, although a "pero" might clarify: "no son opuestos (or "no se excluyen uno al otro"), pero no prefiero ninguno".

Thanks, both of you. (Interesting avatar for you, Malila....)

#1) Yes, Hernan, I would expect a question like that if they were mutually exclusive. I don't prefer romantic stuff nor emotional stuff. (I'm so black & white in my thinking. But then again, I didn't need to remind you guys of that, did I?)

#2) So the "El" could be there, but doesn't have to be? I'm assuming that you both like the sentence better without it?

#3) Yeah, I struggled a little bit with this one. I sometimes take answering these exercises too seriously. Everything that makes me "wonder" about life is always bigger stuff ... not appropriate for the word "curioso" (like hunger, poverty, war, etc.) ... so I figure that "adolescence" certainly is "curioso" enough............ I probably ought to just come up with a completely different answer.

#5) Ugh! Lately I am having a problem with accents on short words that mean different things with and without........

Thanks to you both!! Yes, I liked this exercise, too.

(Avatar changed just for Santa's birthday)

As for #3, these exercises are rarely intended for serious topics, but the answer might include hunger, poverty, etc., if it asked something like "¿qué te llama la atención de la vida?"/"¿qué te extraña/asombra/intriga de la vida?".

By the way, if you said "los adolescentes son lo curioso de la vida", you would be saying that you'd find it funny that they exist.

That's odd - I always thought it was somebody else's birthday, not St. Nicholas'

Correcto. Lo que le pareció extraño a Lou Ann es que mi tendencia a lo "Scrooge" me permitiera un avatar navideño, así que lo que había que hacer era responder con una pequeña provocación.

I wish we had a "like" button, so that could like this comment.
