Señalar con la mano

Hello there,

I need help translating this sentence:

"Mi esposo solo señaló con la mano la otra orilla del río y dijo: sigue caminando, mija, sigue caminando."

El contexto es una familia migrante intentando cruzar un río a pie.

Just a very quick question, does this sound good?: "Mi esposo señaló con la mano la otra orilla del río": My husband pointed at the other bank of the river.
