(but you haven't seen the other side of the coin) as Hermit explained. A better way to say this "but that's not the whole story.

-Yes, but poli, for foreigners this place is very [very] economical because of the money exchange rate. But it all depends on what is high life for you. I'm living with that, my parents need 5 times that to live as they seek a higher standard of living, for example. If you are a teacher, to earn 700u$s you have to work in 4/5 courses, 4 hours a week each(without counting the time to correct tests, travel, prepare the classes, meetings, strikes, etc), at least.

edit: thanks hermit
Así me dijo una profesora argentina. El trabajo come la vida. (aqui con algunos tambien)

Thanks for the corrections poli. So is more common to use "earn" or it's just wrong to use "win" money in that case?

earn = ganar (a través del trabajo, inversiones, etc.)
win = ganar (una competencia, deportes, ganar dinero por suerte, ganar un premio, concuso, sacar la lotería, etc)

It's a good resource life in Ecuador, but I think that there're more places can be also cheap than Ecuardor, therefore, if you believe that $700 dollars per months is enough to survive in that city then I believe that it's great although there're another places that can be cheaper for instance Venezuela, although it's government is very hard to understand.

Possibly more natural to say: What about the other side of the coin? Though to be honest I don't think any English speaker would really say that in this context, not really the place for a saying...(which regarding coins the proper saying is "2 sides of the same coin")

probably better to say something like: Ecuador is beautiful, I'm sure it can be the best place to live, but does it offer everything other places can?
