Indirect Object Pronoun le

Indirect Object Pronoun le

“La comida de la madre no la iguala nadie. Si a esta premisa le sumamos la crisis económica y que el coste mensual del comedor escolar asciende a 150 euros de media, la costumbre de mandar a los chicos a la escuela con la fiambrera bajo el brazo llega a ser más común.”

Who or what does ‘le’ refer to above? Could it be the reader of the text?
