Me gustaría que me venda un vaso de coca cola.

Why is the subjunctive used here?

Me gustaría que me venda un vaso de coca cola.

Are there any other ways to say it?

Thanks.

Subjunctive is used in sentences expressing wishes.

Although shouldn't it be an imperfect subjunctive, since it follows a conditional?

I would use it that way, but there was a thread somewhere that says you don't have to conjugate into the imperfect tense if gustar is the verb of volition. I think I can find the thread if I look for it.

I can't find the thread I was looking for, so forget what I said.
Using the present subjunctive where the imperfect subjunctive should have been used (according to all the grammar I've been taught) is something that I encounter once in awhile.

I think the sentence is wrong, but there are probably some native speakers that will defend it.

It should be 'vendiera' or 'vendiese' instead of 'venda'.

I think I'll not bother using the sentence if this is wrong.

Could we get a natives opinion on this? If it is wrong, I won't use the sentence.

Use the sentence as I stated and all will be well. Use the imperfect subjunctive when the main clause verb is in the conditional mood.
