Wink Corrections from members

hello,

I am rather green in this forum since I registered yesterday, that is why I want to ask about it before correcting anybody.

do you usually correct other members' mistakes althought these mistakes are not related to the threat?

I have been having a look at the posts and I have seen some mistakes that nobody has corrected. I think we are all here to learn so it would be great if we all help the others.
So feel free to correct me, please!!!

sorry, I think I was not enough clear, I was not talking only about me, I meant in general. I meant that I saw mistakes in older posts that nobody has never corrected, not only mines.

I just wanted to say that, in my case, it would be great if other members correct me because it would help me to not make the same mistakes again. And I just wanted to know if others members agree with me.

I don not have to forgive you or anybody because I just made a suggestion not a reproach.

thanks for your interest

@Luz: Users normally correct other people's mistakes, but it's hard to keep track of each and every one of them. Many members don't always have time or disposition to correct it all, but as you have said, we're all here to learn and nobody will feel offended by being corrected, as long as it's done in a polite way.
You may have noticed that although many times corrections lead to off-topics, users try to keep the thread as focused as possible.
I think your contributions will be highly appreciated.

Just some spelling errors.
Creo que uno de las cosas mejores de este foro es que corregimos uno de
otro. Siempre espero que los otros me correjan y vuelvo el favor. Así aprendimos.

If the thread is a question of grammar practice I try to correct those mistakes that are specific to the exercise and those which would cause misunderstanding. If it's general conversation, only mistakes that cause misunderstanding or are grammar mistakes otherwise it might break the thread; too many corrections can distract. And like Angelica said, I try to be polite about it.

As we're talking about correcting...
Could you tell me if "Creo que una de las cosas mejores" is also grammatically correct and did you change just as an improvement in style. I think this has come up in a recent thread.

As for correcting - yes please!! Just carry on as it's being done now, in a helpful, non critical fashion.

Sometimes, if I just want to write a bit in Spanish for practice, but know that it could spin off into a zillion unrelated topics, I will either ask for corrections on only one thing (like preterit vs. imperfect or a particular word usage) and not on the entire sentence ... or I might just say "Here's a translation that I did of my Christmas letter into Spanish. Don't correct it, just enjoy..." With dummies like me, it's difficult to keep a thread on topic if I attempt to write my response in Spanish and make a zillion mistakes. Each mistake could become a new thread of its own....

As I can effectively proved, I cannot help you grammatically. That said, what I corrected is understandable and correct in Spanish.
