Prefixes and suffixes
hello
in every language there are prefixes and suffixes, eg in english -ly means adverb and in spanish -mente means adverb, pre- means repeat, -ic means adjective, etc is there a complete reference list of these? thanks |

I was able to find a few websites that listed a number of suffixes and prefixes. The search I used was 'Spanish suffixes prefixes'. I don't know if there is any one place that contains a comprehensive list.

Sí. Esto sirve para convertir un verbo en un sustantivo. Hay un sufijo equivalente en el inglés: -ment

It means over, above, beyond and upon. The Spanish prefix super- is probably a better match for the given definitions.
Other than those meanings, it can also mean the compass point sur. It is used to form some compound words, like Suramérica (also spelled Sudamérica) and Suráfrica. sureste = southeast suroeste = southwest sureño = southern |
