Is it correct to use ser in a 'weather expression'?
Estos meses son muy fríos. Este invierno ha sido muy frio. I would generally go for these two: - Hace mucho frío estos meses. - Ha hecho mucho frío este invierno. Many thanks in advance. |

Yes, it is correct.
When you use "ser", you're characterizing what the weather feels like and in the second example you're saying what the weather is like. I can't think of a better way to explain it. - Aquí el clima es más bien seco. Aquí casi nunca llueve - En la Ciudad de México la primavera es muy cálida. En la Ciudad de México hace mucho calor durante la primavera. - El verano en el centro del país es lluvioso. En el centro del país llueve durante el verano.
