Creo que "bol" es una palabra en español que es influenciada por el inglés. Aunque se usan por muchas personas, creo que no son reconocidas como palabra "oficial" en los diccionarios.
Pero, quizás esté en un error. Muy pronto lo sabremos....

He escuchado "bol" más entre personas de habla hispana que viven en Estados Unidos. Para mí sigue sonando mejor "tazón".

In Mexico it must be "palillos chinos"; "palillos" are toothpicks.

Is plato hondo the same as tazón?
I have always used plato hondo or bol.

@Poli: they are not the same. The "plato hondo" is less deep than a "tazón". A "tazón" looks more like a half-sphere.
