Speedy Gonzalez
Remember the cartoon character "Speedy Gonzalez"? My husband wants to know what it is that Speedy says when he takes off. We understand "Arriba, arriba..." but then what does he say? Is it "Andale"? Sandy

You're kidding me! That's incredible. I absolutely loved that cartoon when I was a kid (I'm an older kid than you are). The voice for Speedy was Mel Blanc (que descanse en paz). Later in life, once I had learned Spanish, I saw a few episodes on television. Speedy spoke some entire sentences in Spanish once in awhile, but mostly he used a couple of words that adults would know (because of exposure to the language) and Spanglish.
Great fun! |
