Conditional?

I have homework where I have a situation and then have to form a question with the subjunctive and answer it. For example this sentence:

I would answer it like this for example:
Buscaría al niño.

But I am not sure if I am supposed to use the conditional in reply to a subjunctive clause.

The main clause in the question is framed in the future tense. The subjunctive clause is appropriately framed in the present subjunctive.

Your answer should reference the main clause, not the subjunctive clause, so you should answer in the future tense. (You could use a pronoun in your reply instead of repeating the object.)

Oh I see, thanks Rusty!

Le buscaré.
Is that correct?

The verb is correctly conjugated. You need to use another pronoun, though.

Lo buscaré.

It is a direct object.

@Zuma: Although I fully agree with Rusty about the use of the direct object pronoun, in Spain they would say "le" for a person; so if this is an exercise for a European teacher, then you may be asked to use "le buscaría" instead.

Thanks Angelica, I have a Peruvian teacher. I assume the use of the conditional was an oversight and it should be future?

That's a typical misconception.
