It think it is Montecristo who signs with this expression,

Pensaba en franco. Esto me recuerda de francotirador y me gusta el parentesco poético entre un francotirador y un corazón franco.

I would use
"la verdad no puede dañar a un corazón inocente" or ""la verdad no puede dañar a un corazón sincero" I prefer inocente, altough "sincero/franco" is a better translation of candid. Here "inocente" (withouth malice) so no caplable of lying. saludos |
