When asking for a translation of a word or phrase, please take the time to (1) explain what the word or phrase means in the original language, and (2) use the word or phrase in a sample sentence which exemplifies its use.
This will be of great help for those of us who want to answer the question. Thanks!

well, this idiom means sthg like : For example you´re talking about a thing to do in the future or a decision to make. But you don´t know yet, and you say segun venga el aire pondrmos la capa, that is, if my mother comes on Monday alone, I might take her to visit a museum, however is she comes down with her friends I´might take to the park instead.
Sorry. |

I like Empanada Rica's answer. It's valid. A more contemporary was of saying it is: We'll play it by ear.
