It's strange, but I don't think cope translates directly with one word in Spanish. I would say, ¿Cómo superaste el congojo de su muerte?
Wait for a native speaker for a more definitive answer.

I checked the entry for "cope" at wordreference.com English->Spanish. There are several possible ways to translate this verb; the most appropriate choice (or choices) often depends on the particular context. I agree with poli, in this case a native speaker's opinion may be your best guide.
