The candid heart.

It think it is Montecristo who signs with this expression,

but, I wonder how you can say, ...the candid heart in Spanish.
el corazon ...?

Pensaba en franco. Esto me recuerda de francotirador y me gusta el parentesco poético entre un francotirador y un corazón franco.

I was going to correct my use of recordar, but I was actually curious if that works at all.

Corazón franco también se usa, but not as often.

I would use
"la verdad no puede dañar a un corazón inocente" or ""la verdad no puede dañar a un corazón sincero"
I prefer inocente, altough "sincero/franco" is a better translation of candid.
Here "inocente" (withouth malice) so no caplable of lying.
