Yo lo tenía como un regionalismo que significa algo como "malcriado; acostumbrado a los lujos; que no mueve un dedo" parecido al rioplatense "criado con leche de higo".

Encontré en la web que puede también referirse a quienes quieren presumir de buena posición social sin realmente tenerla.

Yo no estaba seguro del significado, pero comparto lo que dice Alec.
