No metas la pata

Context
You tell your wife that The neighbor has cancer. Sb told you to keep your mouth shut. You ask your wife not to mention that to the sick woman or her family withnquestions like how do you feel? How is your desease? And you tell her no metas la pata preguntandole que como se siente, pk no quieren que se sepa, y no saben que lo sabemos
