Eso tener que olvidar
Unas segundas de audio de telenovela Yago con los palabras
".. eso tener que olvidar. a Tomás" The transcripts are very good and difficult to think of any other words that would fit, but I can't hear the word "tener" it sounds like "del" perhaps "debo" Perhaps someone with Spanish ears could tell me if that is just a way of pronouncing tener or what. |

The transcripts I found online were '¿Podré cambiar? A eso tengo que olvidar a Tomás.' This makes more sense, but it's difficult to hear what she's slurring.

"Para eso tengo que olvidar a Tomás".
"Para" is not well articulated and sounds like "a".

It seem like A eso **** que olvidar a Tomás. Is it possible the "para" is after the "eso" ? The scripts are very good but this one just didn't sound right. Last edited by Stu; November 14, 2015 at 08:51 PM. |

Nope, she is saying 'tengo'.
The script I got from the internet has the correct conjugated verb. Angelica mentioned that 'para eso' replaces 'a eso'. |

I certainly can't hear para eso in the version I am listeneing to. No doubt when an actor has to remember a lot of lines, and deliver them quickly, and with a particular emotion and volume, it is not the easiest thing to do, and some distortion or tripping up is possible. I want to ask a supplementry question but it will be easier to do it later on a new thread. |

If the thing you are listening to is the same as the clip you posted, that's just what she's saying.

She's not making any effort. The slurring is her natural speech; if she were to make an effort, she'd have to deliver a far better diction, but that's just how she speaks.

Is this just obvious because "a eso" makes no sense and it must be "para eso"? Rusty, are you able to post a link to the script or suggest search terms? Last edited by AngelicaDeAlquezar; January 07, 2016 at 02:58 PM. Reason: Merged back-to-back posts |
