Thanks for your help!!!!! I hope to be able to chat with al of you a little more as my schedule lightens up

"Pasarse" is Mexican slang for reacting to things like to cross the line, to exaggerate, to be mean, to be over the top, to say/do something inappropriate... Quite a versatile expression.

Personally, I can't figure out why someone would have replied with "te pasas" if you are laughing at a joke... unless she found kind of inappropriate to laugh at such joke, or that the joke was not so funny as to laugh maybe.
Anyway, these expressions tend to be used playfully and not necessarily to express serious disapproval for something.

(The children broke the window with the ball.)
-- Se pasan. Ya les he dicho que tengan cuidado.
(That's too much. I have already told them to be careful.)

- Creo que me pasé. Le dije a Juan que vi a su novia con otro.
(I think I messed it up. I told Juan I saw her girlfriend with another guy.)

-- El gato del vecino rompió mi maceta. Lo voy a envenenar.
(The neighbor's cat broke my plantpot. I'll poison him.)
-- No te pases. ¿Cómo vas a matar a un pobre gato?
(Don't be so mean. Why would you kill a poor cat?)

(I saw a documentary that says we never went to the moon.)
(Hahaha, that's too much. Didn't they also say it's made of cheese?)

(Have you seen the meat dress of Lady Gaga?)
-- Sí, se pasó. Qué asco me da.
(Yes, she crossed the line. How disgusting.)

It's a very funny but cruel joke, so "te pasas" disapproves laughing, but since she shared it, it's obviously not serious disapproval.

Yeah, she definitely didn't share it with me to see if I have a cruel sense of humor. She obviously thought it was quite hilarious, as did I. Any ways, thanks for the clarification as always Angelica

@Poli: Yes, I guess it's used to say that someone or something "overstepped".

@BJ: Always glad to help.
