So I'm attempting to read La Opinion...

A Spanish Language newspaper published in Los Angeles, and I'm having some trouble figuring out exactly what this headline reads. I understand the Jist of it, but If I could get some help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Here's the headline...

LAPD, otra vez en tela de juicio

Afroamericana discapacitada habría sido sometida a golpes.

Thanks in advance.

The headline is hard, because the words don't really make sense "in cloth of judgement?" But I think it means maybe that they are being judged. And discapacitada, maybe there was discrimination against a disabled person.

tear in justice or a tear in the fabric of justice is what it implies

under blows... It is about police brutality... once again in the LAPD.

"poner en tela de juicio" literally, to " place in cloth of judgement", is something like "to place in the court"
It means to question, to call in/into question, cast doubt on someone or something.

LAPD, otra vez en tela de juicio
Afroamericana discapacitada habría sido sometida a golpes.

The LAPD is in question again
disabled afroamerican woman was hitted to aquiesce/give in/humble.

Thanks Sosia!!

Just for the record, the past tense of "to be hit" is just "hit", not "hitted".

Learning Spanish, I have come to realize how many irregularities there are with English verbs.

Oops I didn't see this thread until now.

Another translation might be:

LAPD, otra vez en tela de juicio
Afroamericana discapacitada habría sido sometida a golpes.

LAPD in the spotlight again-
Disabled African American woman beaten into submission.
