Si estás en México, es "ir en/de reversa", "poner el coche en reversa".

No entiendo sí es poner la palanca del cambio en posición de marcha atrás (de 'reverso' es la primera vez que lo veo) o que va caminando marcha atrás.

Como escribió Angélica, así lo dice en México. México y EEUU comparten partes se idioma y cultura. A mi me parece claro que poner el carro en reversa muestra la influencia del inglés.
