Qué vs lo que
Do I need a written accent below with ‘que’ (1st sentence), even though it is not a direct question?
Can I simply replace it with ‘lo que’ (2nd sentence, no accent)? • Oye, te llamo luego para ver qué piensas. • Oye, te llamo luego para ver lo que piensas. Many thanks. |

The first sentence needs the accent because "qué" is working as some sort of pronoun. That's its role in exclamations and questions as well.
In the second sentence it doesn't need it, because the pronoun is already there with "lo". Both sentences mean the same.
