Presentación de España

¡Hola! I just finished the text for my final project in Spanish class. Its going to be a power point presentation with pictures and music. I don't speak or write very well yet, so any help you can give with the text would be appreciated. ¡Gracias!

Here it is in English if that helps.

Spain is a country on the Iberian Peninsula located between France and Portugal. It is home to 47 million people. 75 % of those people are Roman Catholic, most of the rest are atheists or agnostics. Castellano is the official language, but other languages such as Catalan, Galician, and Basque are also spoken there.
Spain is a constitutional monarchy. Its current king, Juan Carlos was coroneted on November 22, 1975. The king is head of state, while the prime minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero is head of the government. They also have a legislative branch composed of a Congress of Deputies and a senate. They also have a judicial system composed of two tribunals.
Although there have been people living in the region now called Spain for tens of thousands of years it was the Romans that laid the foundations of Spain’s current language, religion and laws. The Romans came to Spain in the second century BC and remained there until the Moors invaded in 711 AD. The Moors were driven out in 1492 and by 1512 the unification of Spain was complete. In the 16th century Spain was the most powerful country in Europe due to its wealth acquired in the Americas. By the end of the century Spain began to decline due to war and revolt. In the 18th century the nation and most of Europe was conquered by Napoleon. By the end of the 19th century Spain had lost its colonies to revolution. In 1936 civil war broke out in Spain and in 1939 the nationalist forces of General Fracisco Franco won. Franco ruled the country until he died in 1975 and was replaced by his chosen successor, Prince Juan Carlos de Borbon y Borbon. In 1978 they created their current constitution and restored democracy in Spain. (Source 1)
Spain is known for their festivals. There are far too many to mention, so here’s some of the more interesting ones.
In February there is a tapas festival which takes place in Seville, the world capital of tapas. There is also Carnival with its huge celebrations involving costumes and dancing.
The biggest festivals take place in April and May beginning with Semana Santa. Some other festivals during this season are Moros y Cristianos, Fiesta de los Patios and the world’s largest bull fight in Madrid.
In July there is an international guitar festival and the running of the bulls.
One of the craziest festivals takes place in August. It is called La Tomatina and it is the world’s biggest tomato fight.
In September there is Fiestas de Otoño. It is a three week party involving sherry, horses and flamenco. There is also Fiesta del Arroz, a paella festival.
November begins with Todos Los Santos when people remember their deceased relatives. And the year ends with Noche Vieja. (Source 2)
When people think of music in Spain they think of Flamenco, but there are many types of Spanish music. During the Renaissance the music was influenced by the Arabs. The great Spanishcomposersof the Renaissance period are Francisco Guerrero and Cristóbal de Morales. The 20th century saw the end of the classical culture in Spain and led to new guitar compositions by renowned Spanishmusicianslike Fernando Sor, Francisco Tárrega. Here is Recuerdos de Alhabra composed by Tarrega and played by Narciso Yepes.

Although traditional regional music remains popular there is also a lot of modern rock and pop created by Spanish musicians. (Source 3)

Food is a big part of Spanish life. It starts with Desayuno, which is the smallest meal of the day. Usually it consists of coffee and something small to eat. Afterwards comes tapas, a snack before lunch. Lunch is the biggest meal of the day. It has several courses and takes hours to eat. Afterwards many people take a siesta. Following lunch there is another snack called la merienda. La cena is a small meal eaten late in the evening. It is usually something simple and can be followed by a dessert.

Spain is a beautiful country with a rich history. This presentation is only a small sample of what the country has to offer. I hope you found it interesting and I hope you choose to do your own research on Spain in the future.

Crotalito, a propósito.

@KittensAndJesus, I'd love to help you but I think your Spanish is significantly better than mine, so I'd just confuse you You may be better off being a bit crafty and getting your corrections over a series of more digestible threads, one paragraph at a time I wrote a (much more basic) thread about things to see and do around Melbourne, and that got little attention too, which I think is either because it's too long for people to want to read, or because there were too many mistakes to correct

@Irma: That's correct, we cannot do his work for him. Only hints can be provided.

@Kittens: Unfortunately not all users have enough time to deal with everyone's exercises. Such a long exercise might be better corrected by your teacher, but maybe some shorter sentences in the future will attract more users to help you.

@Kittens: There are many errors in what you wrote, as has already been stated. We can only offer hints, instead of just correcting your homework assignment.

Here are some of the hints I would give for the first paragraph alone:

What word does situada modify? Hint: it isn't península.

The next sentence has several errors. The phrase 'to be home to' is idiomatic in English. There is a Spanish equivalent, but it may be easier to not use idiomatic expressions in the first place. There's nothing grammatically wrong with saying, 'Forty-seven million people live in Spain," and it'll be easier to work with.
Your original translation ended in a preposition. That is never allowed in Spanish.

The third sentence should start with a capital letter. In English, it would begin, 'Seventy-five percent of those people ...', because numerals aren't used at the beginning of a sentence. In English, the word percent is a singular noun. In Spanish, however, the word percent is still two words. So, in both languages you need to spell out 'seventy-five percent', and determine what article to start the sentence with. Hint: it isn't a plural article.
The word gente is singular, so the remainder of the sentence should agree.

Your third sentence is actually two complete sentences separated by a comma. Split them up. Remember, de + el = del (del resto). The rest of your sentence is using plurals, but the verb doesn't agree. 'Agnostics' wasn't translated.

The last sentence you wrote in the paragraph needs to start with an article - El Castellano. The adjective in front of idiomas is incorrect (idioma is masculine). More articles are needed in the sentence, too. Can you determine where?

Yes you're right, probably sometimes I'm very tired for understand all the grammatical of this language. Although I will keep in mind your corrections, in essence your corrections changed completely my post, I see my post from other view point at least for the corrections or advices they are quite the same.

When I write in English, I procure to think solely in English for training my brain although I know, I do a lot of mistakes, but as someone said before, to asking you can arrives to Rome.

What do you think about?

I think that my English even is poor, I don't achieve to get or upgrade my English on my own. I can't figure out the grammatical, maybe the grammatical is not for me.

Maybe, maybe yes, sincerely I don't know

And thank you for the corrections.
