Tal y como

I think it means all in all, or resulta que,or in the final analysis, but I'm not sure.

Depending on the context, it can mean:
exactly
just as
just like

Can you use tal y como the way you may use desde luego or cómo no, or claro.
I don't think so, but ...

tal y como es = exactly like it is
tal y como se puede ver = (just) as you can see

It's better with context. The suggestions are good.
"todo salió tal y como prometí"
All went just as I promised.
"El robo al banco salió tal y como se planificó"
The bank's robbery went just as expected.
