It's certainly used in the phrase "farmacia de guardia" to indicate 24-hour availability for emergencies. It's not quite "on call" in English, but it's the same concept.

Yes the word could be expressed for someone who is waiting a turn.
For example when you go to the bank then you need to take a turn ticket.

That's my humble opinion.

That's right, but as you say "farmacia de turno" could be translated as "duty's chemist"

I've seen "farmacia de turno" in Spain with a synonym usage to "farmacia de guardia" (and Googling it, this is confirmed).

Also,
to do night duty = hacer el turno nocturno;
to do duty as something = hacer las veces de algo, servir de algo
b (in phrases) off duty: to come/go off duty = acabar el turno or la guardia;
to be off duty « nurse / doctor » = no estar de turno or guardia;
« policeman / fireman » = no estar de servicio;
on duty: to come/go on duty = empezar el turno or la guardia;
he’s on duty all morning « nurse / doctor » = está de turno or de
guardia toda la mañana; « policeman / fireman » está de servicio toda la mañana

Pablo.

Your examples are greatly useful.

You have made a great investigation and the more good of this business is that you shared all your knowledge.

Thank you.

New words for me.

Tomorrow I will go on duty early in the company.
I'm duty off this weekend

Many examples.

Please you don't hesitate to correct me.

Thank you Pablo for your contribution.

I will take in mind your advices.

I will be off duty this morning.

Because Raul did his duty very early today then the boos changed me the duty for tonight.
Therefore I will do duty tonight at the company.

Weatherford has many changes in the duties of the personal, inclusive I will be off duty the Tuesday, then I will can go with you to the super market with Acela.

I will appreciate your corrections.

Sincerely yours.

(Corrections marked... A native English speaker input would be appreciated... as I was born in Spain... that's why my skin is fair.)
