Smile The Mind Portal Spanish Learning Map

Hello,

The grammar below is part of a project to build language maps that provide grammatic lessons. The featured standard text below will be used to correspond sentences and sentence structures into a single map divided into 5 parts. The text below covers the entire first part of this map, which includes the basic pronunciations of the target language, unlike the other 4 parts.

At the moment there are mistakes which need to be corrected before I can proceed with preparing this map. I am thankful to any who decide to participate by helping to correct the errors below in order to validate that correct material is put into place.

Most of the translations that follow appear to be from a machine. Steer far away from machine translations. They're no good!!! I mostly changed the pronunciation guide, and would have liked to have changed it even more. In my opinion, you should show stressed syllables, leave out punctuation, and indicate where vowels are blurred together. Most Spanish consonants have a distinct sound from the English consonants, so I would change a few to more closely represent the Spanish pronunciation.

Hi Jozen-Bo,

You'd probably get more responses/more help if you chose smaller bits and pieces to translate and post at one time, instead of posting so much in one thread.

Just some friendly advice.

Welcome to the forums,
David.

Thank you kindly for this advice, I will remember it for the future and act upon it!

This project will take time to complete, though I think you are right, that it will be done sooner if I use smaller steps. I've noticed that huge posts tend to scare a large portion of the potential respondents away.

I am wondering, is the information quoted by Rusty with red in the letters corrected? If so, I can record it as verified and then focus on the next bit, though this time taking a only section of the list above.

Thanks!

Great, I will extract them and put them into my list of correct material!

This is a part of a research project to study the mind, as well, I would very much like to learn the language and speak it. The maps will be made available for free once they are complete, so anyone can participate in the project if they want, though preparing them will take some time. It will require some patience, as there is 4 times as much material more then what I opened with, though as you advised, focusing on smaller sections at a time will be more productive.

Since that text above has been verified, then perhaps it would do well to post the next ten lines, providing the next small step towards achieving a completed map:

Hi. How many times did it take to get here?
Hola. ¿Cuántas veces se tarda en llegar?
