Estar en la edad del pavo

Estar en la edad del pavo is used when teenagers do kind of crazy things and act like fools sometimes. How can we say tenet la edad del pavo o star en la edad del pavo in English?

I can't think of a similar refrain in English. Usually we use the standard term adolescence.

I just remembered there is a term: the awkward years

I agree with awkward.

Being at an awkward age.
Being at a difficult age.

I agree.

To be at an/that awkward age.

Also, "to be at those awkward teenage years."
