Dar, hacer, poner énfasis

What is the difference between using any of these verbs (or others) with énfasis? I had translated "emphasize" or "focus" as "da énfasis" but was told by my editor that an example of using "dar énfasis" would be "da énfasis en el color de la piel." I searched google and couldn't find any difference in usage between hacer or dar énfasis, except in the number of "hits." Then I also found "poner énfasis." (The main usage I have is for when a school focuses on some particular goal, such as meeting student needs.)

Also, when I searched for "énfasis" in Tomísimo, it said there were 9 pages, but I didn't find a "next" button or some way to get past the first page. So maybe there's already a thread, but I couldn't search well enough to find it. How do you get from one page of threads to the next?

emphasize is a verb and emphasis is a noun.

emphasize - enfatizar
énfasis - emphasis
