¡Hola!

¿Por qué hay que utilizar el artículo indeterminado aquí ("con UN médico" vs. "con médico"), pero no aquí ("tener consulta" vs. "tener UNA consulta")?

Su pregunta es buena. Son las pequeñas palabras que nos traicionan más. La verdad es que puede decir tengo una consulta, pero según lo que entiendo el significado cambia implicando algo más. (por ejemplo tengo una consulta breve o serio o....) Vamos a esperar lo que otros foreros opinan.

Creo que se trata de la pura construcción idiomática del verbo tener.

- No tiene idea de lo que está diciendo.
- ¿Tienes coche mañana? (Por ejemplo, cuando tus padres no te lo prestan todos los días.)
- No éramos ricos, pero teníamos techo y comida seguros.
- ¿Ustedes tienen televisión en casa?

Los artículos no siempre están proscritos, pero a veces, añadir el artículo indefinido puede implicar que se trata de un acontecimiento que sucede una sola vez (por oposición a una costumbre), aunque no necesariamente.

- Tengo cita con el médico. Tengo una cita con el médico.
- Tengo clase a las diez. Tengo una clase a las diez.
- Tengo junta en la tarde. Tengo una junta en la tarde.


En el contexto de una empresa de transporte, un chofer le preguntaría a otro: "¿Tienes viaje mañana?", pero no le preguntaría "¿Tienes un viaje mañana?", puesto que la costumbre la marca su trabajo.
Sin embargo, si un chofer le pregunta al otro si tiene un viaje, no está usando el artículo indefinido, sino el numeral.

No soy hispanohablante y ésto de los artículos me cuesta mucho. Pero según lo que he leído, mi idea sobre los artículos con profesiones es lo siguiente: que cuando hablas de una profesión, omites el artículo si hablas de la profesión como profesión (o hablas de la profesión de una persona como condición) pero no si hablas de una persona específica en una situación específica. Ejemplos--

quiero hacerme profesora
su madre es profesora

tengo que hablar con una profesora acerca de mi plan de estudios

Ojalá alguién más experto clarifique más.

Soy hispanoparlante pero es mi segundo idioma, pero puedo contestar tu pregunta:
Estás en lo cierto, pero se puede decir que hacerme una profesora
tambien si que estar enfática, o si quiere implicar algo más. Ejemplo:
Quiero ser un profesor que está admirado for sus estudiantes.


Tambien puede decir alguna profesora.
Ejemplo: Ella es alguna profesora -no se donde.

Good catch...

I don't know if the English version is correct, I imagine that it isn't.

In Spanish it would be "Ella es una profesora de ..... en tal o cual colegio etc"
