Creo que he encontrado 'faltar' también en el sentido de 'echar de menos' ('absence'?) ?

Hay una diferencia en el uso? Por ejemplo:

'Cuando esté de vacaciones, a veces a mí me falten mis amigos y mi familia'.

'Cuando esté de vacaciones, a veces eche de menos a mis amigos y mi familia'.

¿Estas frases significan lo mismo, o tienen otra 'carga' ? ('charge'?)
Por ejemplo, si se quiere expresar que alguien le falta mucho (un sentimiento muy fuerto) ¿sería mejor utilizar un verbo que el otro?

Sí, Echar de menos = hacer falta

charge = carga o cargo

Esta expresión: falta "lo mero" bueno lo he escuchado solo de mexicanos...

Nosotros en chile decimos:

Todavía falta lo bueno

Y lo bueno está por venir

Todavía falta lo mejor

etc...

Not to keep one's word = no mantener la palabra - fallar en mantener la palabra.

No es doble negativa.

Faltar a tu palabra - fallar en mantener tu palabra = Fail to keep your word.
