Question Playing games

I never get to play games freely. Is it okay to play games? I know it's not good to play games when there's a test coming up, or during homework, but is it okay to play games on the weekend or vacation when there's nothing to do and all your homework are done? I never get to have any fun. We hardly go on vacations (not that I actually mind)

Thumbs up

Jesica,
It is okay to have some type of fun...you sound like a very intelligent 14 year old. I "grew up" in Hawaii where there are many Chinese people and most are very intelligent, ambitious, hard working and very successful. But, remember that you are still a child and enjoy yourself.

You are right, because if you are doing some kind of homework in your home, and you need to finish the homework, it's not correct play game during the work, because it could distract you during the school class, or it doing the homework, then my view point is you must to finish the homework before.

In some cases, relaxing with some kind of fun (not necessarily computer games) can actually improve your productivity in other areas. If you are working constantly, you will get worn out. If you have a balance of work/play, just like a balance of sleeping/being awake, is when you are most productive.

I know some good, intelligent (but something old) PC games I played when I was 15....
But I think it's better to you to find other people and play outside. Reading and playing PC games it's when its late or too early
PS: If you have done all your homework, it's Ok to play games.

I'm just saying......wouldn't playing games ruin your mind and make you do bad on tests? or graded things??

Balance is the key. If you do nothing but play games, and never study, then you'll do bad on tests because you haven't learned much. If you only study and never play games/relax, then you'll get burnt out and start doing poorly on tests. So you need a balance of studying and playing. Many games are (or can be) educational and actually help you learn things (like the games I'm planning on putting up here on tomisimo.)
