It depends.

According to the RAE "las" is a direct object pronoun and "les" is an indirect object pronoun. Thus "I tell them (the girls) that I can see them" is "Les digo que puedo verlas".

However, there are non-standard dialects which modify these rules: laísmo and leísmo. Laísmo is using la/las as indirect object pronouns, and is supposed to be common in e.g. Madrid; leísmo is using le/les as direct object pronouns when referring to people, and is rarer.

Both can be used, depending on the context and whether it is an indirect or direct object.

-- ¿Sabes algo de María y Ana? No las he visto desde hace mucho. (Have you heard anything from María and Ana? I haven't seen them for a long time.)
-- Voy a verlas mañana. ¿Quieres que les dé algún mensaje?. (I will see them tomorrow. Do you want me to give them a message?.)
-- Sí. ¿Podrías decirles que las quiero invitar a mi fiesta? (Yes. Could you tell them I want to invite them to my party?)

I am fairly sure, else everything would be le/lo/la/ísmo.

I might be wrong too.
