The swimming pool water
1. The swimming pool water is dirty.
2. The water in the swimming pool is dirty. 3. The water of the swimming pool is dirty. Are all of them correct? If so, what the difference of meaning between 2 and 3? |

The third one is not good English. The first two sound are good, and they are interchangeable. The water in the swimming pool may sound a little bit more refined than swimming-pool water.

You can also say "the swimming pool is dirty" without mentioning the water.
