Hubo soplo

Así es. Curiosamente, Julia Sanmartín Sáez, en su Diccionario de argot da 5 significados a "soplar"
1. Robar
2. Delatar (la que corresponde a este thread)
3. Beber. (pronominal, "soplarse un litro de cerveza.)
4. Fornicar (pronominal) Poseer sexualmente a una persona.
5. "soplársela a alguien" Ser indiferente algo a alguien.

Y luego da "sople" (no "soplo") para "delación".

En la acepción de "delatar" dice: "Informar de manera poco lícita. Al soplar se despide el aire por la boca de una forma violenta, aunque en este caso más que aire se transmite información o palabras".
