Man of the Beatitudes

Contexto:

Why has that day [New Year's], for its motto— “Good will to man,” so that whichever way one turns he is hailed with good wishes, the fulfilment of which would make him “a man of the Beatitudes.” [from a text by Mrs. Sedgwick, 1838]

¿Por qué tiene ese día, por lema: "Buena voluntad para el hombre", de modo que a cualquier lugar que uno vaya/torne es recibido/aclamado con buenos deseos cuyo cumplimiento lo convertiría en un hombre....

No creo que sea la mejor traducción para " good will to man" tampoco, así que necesito ayuda para las dos expresiones.

Me parece que la autora mezcla también los pronombres one y he/him
