Question Althorn, alto horn or mellophone

Trying to get the Spanish equivalent for this instrument (per Random House, a valved brass musical instrument, varying in shape, that is the alto member of the cornet family) but not having much joy...

Any good ideas... or authoritative references?

¿bombardino barítono/tenor? ¿fliscornio? ¿trompa tenor? ¿eufonio? ¿trompa alto?

Los nombres comunes los sacas de mercadolibre (como ebay), pero Wikipedia en castellano dice que el altohorn en alemán e inglés se divide en trompa tenor y bombardino barítono en castellano, mientras que el euphonium en alemán e inglés se aplica al bombardino, que dice que se le agrega "tenor" en castellano para evitar confusiones, también, bombardino en mi bemol (el barítono lo está en si bemol)

Por lo que vi, una traducción general aproximada pasa por esas latitudes, pero una traducción técnica puede tener problemas ya que los instrumentos se definen por el número de pistones o válvulas rotativas y por el tono.

Si buscas "melófono" en Google, hay algunos enlaces que parecen referencias serias.

Yamaha usa la palabra melófono:

Sin embargo, no aparece en mi Diccionario de la música, Valls Gorina, Alianza Editorial.
