Hay alguna forma de decirlo en inglés, a parte de usar giros como to prentend she works a lot or something like that.

Or when somebody speaks a foreign language with a very good accent for a few minutes and we know he is a foreigner, but he pronounces in such a way that inexperts think he is a native of the language. But experts would say "da el pego"

pego masculino (España familiar): no es de oro pero da el pego it could pass for gold, it isn't gold but it fools most people; ¿qué? ¿doy el pego? well, how do I look?, well, do I pass inspection?

Just for the sake of regionalisms, the colloquial expression in Mexico is "dar el gatazo".

I've heard a few Spaniards say "dar la pala" too how commonly is this expression used in Spain (or in other countries)?
